Tithe Barn

The removal of all internal walls and floors leaving solely the oak frame and external skin allowed reducing the height of the ground floor with underpinning and reconstruction of structure and fabric to provide an interior meeting current insulation and structural requirements.

Intermediate floors were incorporated to avoid restricted headroom under cross beams and the internal arrangement and fitting out with new luxury kitchen and bathrooms.

Electronic light, sound and data control featured highly to create a blend of historic fabric and structure with contemporary services with sustainable materials.

The building won the Regional Award at Local Authority Building Control level and achieved a Finalist accreditation in the National Awards.
